An Introduction to Stone Carving

Our classes are friendly open & flexible in their scope, covering all aspects of stone carving for all skill levels.

We maintain a low student to teacher ratio, with no more than 6 students per course, meaning each student’s experience can be tailored to their ambition & skill level while insuring they receive plenty of one to one tuition & guidance.

With plenty of resources here at the workshop there are lots of opportunities to spark inspiration, we are more than happy for you to discuss your ideas so that we can help you realise them in stone. Alternatively we can find something to copy from our collection of casts.

Our team has broad expert knowledge and so can advise and guide you in every aspect of working stone, from decorative architectural and ornamental carving through to figurative and conceptual stone sculpture as well as letter drawing and cutting for memorials, signs and plaques.

Weekend courses cost £300 per person (including vat) and run from 10am to 4.30pm both days.

Everything needed to produce your carved piece is provided: stone, tools, safety equipment & space.

Students will leave with the basic skills & knowledge needed to continue carving and we will be happy to give ongoing support, advice and guidance on the sourcing of tools, stone etc. to students once they have completed a course with us.
