Every now and then we are given the task of creating something truly bespoke. This headstone was one of those projects. The first thought when thinking of Pigeons is that of the city bird, widely considered to be a nuisance. However, when you learn that Pigeons mate for life, a new picture begins to be painted and having them as the main focus on a gravestone suddenly becomes poignant. 

 

​​We wanted to push the boundaries of conventional headstone design as far as possible while remaining sensitive to the historic setting of Highgate Cemetery. Working within the cemetery’s regulations on scale and form, we came up with a design that would fit in and yet still stand out.
